Embossed Towels

These towels are based on classic M’s & W’s and Crackle threading. The excitement comes in with the way that the warp threads are sleyed in the reed. A Crammed and Dented method is used to place the warp yarn back and forth from extremes of very tight to very open setts. The result is that the motif when woven with a single weft yarn and no tabby, becomes very 3-dimensional creating motifs that are reminiscent of embossed art deco designs.
