From the Fall 2024 Weave Quarterly Land, Sea & Sky collection, double-sided placemats are inspired by the ever-expanding sky, filled with the twinkly stars of the Milky Way or the flurry of snowflakes on a wintery day. With this Stitched Double Cloth technique, the two layers are threaded in a complementary manner. Each layer uses all 4 shafts, resulting in a sturdy reversible cloth that is completely interlaced. Order a kit.


Equipment

  • 4-shaft loom
  • 80-81 heddles per shaft
  • 12-dent reed
  • 2 boat shuttles + bobbins 

Yarn

Warp: Duet Cotton/Linen, 537 yds Pearl, 537 yds Dusk. 

Weft: Duet Cotton/Linen, 393 yds Pearl, 393 yds Storm.
